WORKSHOPS

Each Sunrise Is an Opportunity

The Power of Wisdom

Sri Aurobindo and Mother used to say that true wisdom comes from the Spirit, not the mind, and thus Maheswari is a power allied with divine knowledge, yet distinct from it. They saw wisdom as a direct, intuitive understanding of the truth that is revealed through the "divine vision" of the spirit, contrasted with the mind's limited and distorted knowledge. For them, the ultimate wisdom and power reside in the Supreme Mother, who is the conscious force that can guide individuals to a perfected state of being through sincere surrender and aspiration for her light and force. Based on this understanding, we have developed this workshop with the following sessions:

  • Conscious Sharing Circle on the Bhagavad Gita: during this session we will focus on a fundamental scripture that is at the base of Indian wisdom and integral yoga: the Bhagavad Gita. We’ll use Sri Aurobindo’s translation and interpretation and try to seek the actual truths it contains apart from their metaphysical form in order to suit the mentality and spiritual needs of present-day humanity. The Gita starts from the Vedantic synthesis and upon its essential ideas builds another harmony of the three great means and powers: Karmayoga (selfless sacrifice of works), Jnanayoga (self-realization and knowledge of the true nature of the self and the world), and Bhaktiyoga (adoration and seeking of the supreme Self as the Divine Being).

  • Yoga of Inner discovery on sacred space and will concept: during this session we’ll focus on the importance of our inner Sacred Space as per shamanic traditions. Thr inner sacred space is a deliberately created state of mind for spiritual connection, healing, and ritual. A main drive for it is the power of intention which connects with Assagioli's concept of Will: a central and synthetic faculty, superior to everyday willpower, which coordinates all other mental and spiritual faculties to direct action.

  • Integral Psychology on self-observation, subpersonalities and boundaries: during this session we’ll explore the importance of self-observation, subpersonalities and boundaries using various psychological approaches. Self-observation is about being aware of self and striving for development. Integral psychology in particular views the self as a diverse system of subpersonalities that require conscious integration, not elimination. Healthy growth involves the "I", learning to dialogue with, mediate between, and integrate these parts, while maintaining a strong sense of personal identity and continuity. Boundaries in this context are both internal (managing the demands of different subpersonalities) and external (as part of a healthy self-system that interacts with the collective).

  • Awareness Through the Body on breath: in this session we focus on the physical sensation of breathing to anchor our mind in the present moment, promoting relaxation, focus, and a deeper sense of self-awareness. By noticing the natural rhythm and physical movements of our breath without trying to change it, we can observe thoughts and feelings without judgment, reduce stress, and build the ability to respond to situations calmly rather than just react. We’ll develop a simple practice that can be done anytime, anywhere, by simply tuning into where we feel the breath most vividly.
